SingAlong Evening

The clubhouse at Ashford Tennis Club was transformed into a concert venue for a night of live music with full audience participation.

Most of the 70 strong audience enjoyed a fish and chip supper before hand and took full advantage of ‘Happy Hour’!

Keith Henderson opened the show, accompanied by Markus Zweifler on percussion, launching into a version of ‘La Bamba’.

Next up were Ian Jerome & Graham Salmon who performed a range of songs including some more up to date hits. The audience made full use of their lyric sheets, supporting the duo throughout.

After a short break Sam showed off her wonderful voice to great effect with her rendition of some classic hits made famous by female vocalists. Her partner Greg Balfour-Evans then belted out a couple of songs himself.

The evening’s entertainment was concluded with Keith leading the group of backing singers known affectionately as The Racketeers. A dozen well known hits from the 60s and 70s were performed with great enthusiasm ending in a rousing chorus of ‘Hey Jude’.

Thanks to all the performers especially Keith who led the music throughout and Markus whose percussion skills added an extra dimension to all the songs.
