Our club tournament finals day 2024 on Saturday provided an exciting day of tennis action. 5 open finals and 2 plate events took place in front of numerous spectators in perfect playing condition.

OPEN TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Open Ladies’ Singles  Bunny beat Tanvi 6-4, 6-1

Open Men’s Singles  Kingdom beat Abdullah 6-4, 7-5

Open Ladies’ Doubles  Kathryn & Katarina beat Hannah & Bunny 6-3, 7-6

Open Men’s Doubles  Roger & Andrew beat Kingdom & Alex 6-4, 6-4

Open Mixed Doubles  Kingdom & Katarina beat Anda & Abdullah 6-3, 6-0

PLATE TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Plate Men’s Singles Jayden beat Alan 6-1, 6-7, 1-0 (10-3)

Plate Mixed Doubles Bunny & Jayden beat Tessa & Chris 6-2, 6-2

The BBQ and tombola helped ensure the day raised funds for our charity of the year the Princess Alice Hospice.

These events are only successful due to the hard work by a team of volunteers. So thanks to the tournament organiser Corni for setting up and managing the open and plate events over the last few months. Corni and Keith did a splendid job with umpiring and Club President Jill Stanton was on hand for all the presentations. Sally-Ann and Sarah worked tirelessly on the day with the set up, tombola and clearing up! – with some help from Stephen and Kevin. Special thanks to James for donating the bbq too.
