Improvers Social Tournament

The weather held and the sun shone down on the courts for this Summer’s Beginners/Improvers Social Tournament held on Sunday 2nd July.

Kevin J and Kerry organised the 20 competitors into 4 equally matched teams. There were prizes on offer for the winning team – & the wooden spoon for unfortunately the losing team!

The format consisted of 3 rounds of 20 minute matches and the scores were nail-bitingly close at 19, 21, 23 and 24. The two winning teams met in a play-off and the proud winning team players were Edward, Sue, Stefan, Judith and Freddy who received individual medals and chocolates.

A fun day was had by all and refreshments included several delicious home-made cakes generously donated by Carol, Jonathan & Sue. Certainly this helped rejuvenate the players at half-time!
