World Cup Tournament 2023

Our popular World Cup team tournament took place on Sunday with 24 players battling to get their hands on the impressive trophy!

Flags of all countries hung on the court fencing and some players wore their team colours too.

Four rounds were played with pairings changing throughout which produced some interesting and competitive sets of tennis. The event was open to all abilities which added to the variety of play. Keith managed proceedings with his usual flair – being a veteran of running this event now!

The Rest of the World team won through in the end by a single point over the Celts. Team captain Kingdom lifted the trophy alongside his teammates Greg, Pauline, Rohan, Satiate and Joe.

Tea and coffee was served after although many opted for something a little stronger. The cakes and ice cream went down well too – thanks to Pauline and Corni respectively.

Around £75 was raised for our charity of the year Prostate Cancer. Our Just Giving page will be open for donations until December if you would like to contribute to this worthy cause.
